Update 12th July 2001

Vansittart Road Recreation Ground

On Thursday 12th July 2001 the Windsor Express featured residents concerns in a story headed "Residents fury over the siting of a skate park". The Windsor Express is on sale at all local newsagents from Thursday 12th July. More information with photographs is accessible from the Vansittart Rec Index Page.

The Windsor Express, in an article by Michael Cooper, reflected residents' concerns that siting the skate park in a residential area had lead to endless problems such as late night noise, an increase in graffiti including damage to an attractive Millennium Mural as well as damage nearby and in the park itself. The residents cite lack of patrols to prevent a whole host of undesirable activity as well as its comparatively remote and unlit position and are keen to see the skate park established at a point where all required services and facilities are readily available.
