Visit Brooklands Museum!

G-BBDG, 'Delta Golf', was the first British production Concorde and her maiden flight was in February 1974. She was used for much of the flight testing and aircraft type certification prior to Concorde entering service in 1976. In the spring of 2004, she was taken in sections from Filton near Bristol, where British Concordes were assembled, to Brooklands Museum in Surrey.

It was at Brooklands that many famous aircraft were built including early Hurricanes in the 1930s, the Viscounts and Vanguards of the 1950s and the magnificent VC10s of the 1960s. Brooklands was also the largest production centre for Concorde during the project's lifetime, with Filton and Toulouse in France being the final assembly factories.

From August 2006 'Delta Golf' is on permanent display at the museum. Come to Brooklands to see her and enjoy the Brooklands Concorde Experience which comprises an exhibition area with video, a 'walk through' of the whole aircraft plus an exciting video presentation seated in a real Concorde cabin.

Parallel Landing at LHR

MCR and JFK flights
October 22nd 2003

Taken within a few seconds of each other, these are screen grabs from an amateur video as Concorde BA002, G-BOAD (left) and G-BOAG Manchester Farewell Flight (right) make a parallel landing at Heathrow. 17.59, 22nd October 2003. The complete video is available on the Amateur Video CD. [See here for details]

A contributor to the ConcordeSST Forum of 28th October 2003. "Thanks so much [for this video]. It was a phenomenal sight from inside Alpha Golf to see the New York flight coming in alongside us - very emotional. The cabin staff seemed overcome, too. Never to be forgotten. As it was nearly dark I'm not expecting very much from my photos - so anything else is to treasure."

Radar images of the two aircrafts' approaches over Windsor were available at the time and for a little while thereafter but it seems that these are no longer publicly available.
